Agresso Academic Database

A modern Academic Database System for the recording and manipulation of taught Curriculum, including the rules and processes associated with its approval, delivery and review, at a Higher Education Institution.

Admissions

The Application module within Agresso Students provides the facility to enable Institutions to recruit students via any method, namely UCAS, GTTR, NMAS, SWAS and Direct. Admission staff have the ability to track the applicants through all stages of the admission process.

Assessment

Performance relating to assignments, assessments, appraisals and examinations that contribute to the student’s final award is recorded in the Assessment Management module. This module can cater for the many different approaches required within different types of Institutions.

Curriculum

Agresso Students provides a sophisticated curriculum management system designed so that the Institution can readily develop the curriculum to suit its own individual needs.

Data Translation Centre - Import

Agresso Students provides an alternative method of importing data into the main Student Administration system.

The Data Translation Centre (DTC) has been designed to import data from any third party source, while maintaining the integrity of the main student administration database.

Data Translation Centre - Export

Agresso Studentsprovides an alternative method of exporting data from their Student Record System by the utilization of The Data Translation Centre (DTC). It has been designed to export data to any third party source.

Extracting data from a Student Administration System is most often achieved by users who have reporting knowledge and a clear and in-depth understanding of the data structure and tables. DTC Export is aimed at achieving user defined outputs from the system without the need for users to have a wealth of technical experience.

Enterprise and Reporting

Agresso QL-e has been designed as a native intranet application allowing it to be distributed to a wide variety of management, teaching and support staff throughout the institution and through firewall technologies to external bodies and staff through inherent security.

The Agresso QL-e technology builds upon the Agresso Students Management System providing an intuitive ‘industry standard’ desktop interface which flattens the learning curve and simplifies training requirements for vital institution wide information delivery.

Fees and Charges

The Fees and Charges module within Agresso Students enables institutions to create a fee matrix which can be as simple or as complex as required to cover all possible feeing structures.

Nursing and Midwifery Management

The management of nursing and midwifery courses with Institutions is becoming more and more complex. The need to track the students within the Institution and on their numerous placements throughout their studies is paramount to them completing the course and also a heavy requirement to the ENB. QLS offers a complete nursing and placements management module to aid the Institutions with this task.

Placement Management

Agresso Students offers a complete placements management module to aid institutions with the recording and tracking of students on any form of placements. It has been designed with a generic format to facilitate all types of placement, such as Work Experience, Teaching, Industrial, and Year Out based placements.

Portal Technology 

Portal Server extends the capabilities of desktop tools and web software solutions by offering users a powerful way to organize, find, and share information in a secure environment. With this in mind Distinction has devised a University portal using Microsoft Share point Portal server with Digital Dashboard Technology. Share Point Portal Server integrates a flexible Web portal based on Microsoft Digital Dashboard technology, content indexing and search, document management, and a collaborative applications platform. It brings together a single solution for all of the universities applications.

Research

The Research Module provides a full management system of all studentresearch undertaken within an institution. This module will manage the research element of an institution from the point of a student's application/registration to the management of the student’s research process and final outcome.

Student Loan Company

The Agresso Students Student Loan Company (SLC) module is designed to enable institutions to import data transmitted from the SLC. The imported files hold information relating to the contribution made to the tuition fees of the student. The file received from the SLC is imported into a holding area within Agresso Students. This holding area can then be used to review the contents of the file. The module will also cater for the attendance return thus saving valuable time manually checking each student’s enrolment status. If Agresso Students is used in conjunction with Agresso QL Financials or the fees and charges module, the payment file can be processed and payment is recorded against the necessary account.

Student Record

Agresso Students offers several methods of enrolments allowing the Institution to match QLS to the way that it specifically handles enrolments.

It allows the Institution to record personal details, enrolment information, fees and produce invoices for students and/or sponsors. Numerous biographical details can be recorded and validation checks are performed on various fields, including validated lookups.
