Agresso QL Personnel Product Information

Agresso QL Personnel Overview

Agresso QL Personnel possesses three major attributes which distinguish it in the personnel software arena. Firstly, it delivers all the functionality expected from a comprehensive HR management system. Secondly, it is designed specifically for the Education sector with modules for staff development and part-time contract control. Thirdly, Agresso QL Personnel can be part of a fully integrated management information system, linking seamlessly with its own Payroll processing module as well as the other Agresso QL Finance and Student management applications.

Agresso QL Personnel Web Portal

For most colleges, the ability to distribute access to the HR system for a range of departmental users was part of the medium term strategy for sourcing a new system and a significant reason why Agresso QL Personnel was selected as the replacement product.

The Agresso QL Personnel Web Portal has been introduced as a means of delivering the desired distributed access using browser-based technology. It is more appropriate to the needs of occasional users, extremely flexible yet simple to deploy and conforms to all the business rules and security defined within the core Agresso QL Personnel system

Detailed Application Information

Human Resource Record

This core software module allows users to maintain a comprehensive record on employees. Agresso QL Personnel has a specific education bias and meets all the needs of FE and HE Institutions such as the Staff Individualised Record (SIR). Whilst most fields are not compulsory, data can be recorded on all key aspects of the record and unlimited additional user-defined fields can be added.

HR Enquiry & Reporting

The HR Enquiry suite is an essential tool for analysing data on Human Resources and Payroll. It has the power to provide detailed analyses of large volumes of data both quickly and simply. Reports are user-defined through simple wizards which require little knowledge of programming. All security features of Agresso QL Personnel are maintained, ensuring that sensitive data can be distributed in a secure and protected way.

Staff Development

The Staff Development Module enables employers to manage training needs through a structured approach. Any training and subsequent qualification achieved by an employee is automatically transferred to their personnel record. Where resource planning is required Credentials and Attributes can be recorded from which skills audits can be undertaken.

Payroll Processing

Agresso QL Personnel captures the majority of information necessary to produce a payroll, thus eliminating the need for duplicate entry. The Payroll module provides full payroll processing. Alternatively, payroll data can be output to any third party payroll system or bureau service.

Contract Control

Contract Control is a feature of the Payroll module that is of great benefit to colleges, where high numbers of hourly paid, sessional contracts are in use. This module allows colleges to manage the schedules of work required for both hourly paid staff and those on overtime and links through to Payroll for authorisation and payment.

Agresso QL Workflow

Colleges are increasing seeking more efficient and systematic ways of managing large volumes of data and the Workflow module supports this by allowing Agresso QL Personnel users to develop business intelligence within Agresso QL Personnel. This module allows users to define a series of     processes which can trigger one or many associated actions within and outside the application so that critical actions are automatically initiated. These actions could include the sending of emails, running standard Agresso QL Personnelfunctions, telephone call reminders, production of letters etc. Any action can be initiated automatically based on a defined trigger or placed in a users ‘to do list’ for review prior to actioning. For example, an employee and his line manager could be emailed a request for a medical certificate following a period of absence or a starter pack could be produced when a new employee is appointed.

“ It is important that we are supported in the design, implementation and staff training plans by the supplier. I am impressed by the experience and knowledge of the
Distinction staff working with us on this project, and by their flexibility and willingness to work with us at a pace to match our resources and expectations”.
